Optimise Web Site for GoogleSince Google is the most popular and most used search engine today and it is serving the most daily searches of all search engines it is normally that everyone want to get high ranking in Google SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Basicly, Google is very easy to dominate. If you want to get #1 for keyword all you need to do is to use unique content on your web site and to get enough backlinks pointing to your site. That's all, believe it or not. Google is all about backlinks and text of links pointing to you. How to get unique content? Write it by yourself, or pay someone to write it for you. Text rich articles that will keep surfers attention are something Google wants. Google has built it's popularity on fact that it is search engine that provides the most relevant results. To stay on top Google has to continue serving relevant results and to make surfers happy with sites they get. If your web site will make surfers happy it will make Google happy too and as a reward Google will rank you higher then your competition. How to get backlinks? One of the best ways is to submit your web site to web directories. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of web directories... And most of them will list your site for free if you place link to them at your web sites links page. This way is more popular for most of webmasters because they are not spending cash to get backlinks. However there's a catch... Google will find out soon that your site is linking to web directory that is linking back to you (this is called reciprocal linking) and Google will give lower importance to that link. To get maximum importance links you can buy listing of your site in web directories. This way you are not linking to web directory from your web site and that kind of link (called 1-way backlink) is indefinitely more powerfull then recip link. It's up to you to deicide whick strategy you'll use to build up your web sites link popularity. You can go free way by getting many low quality (reciprocal) links, or you can go paid way by getting less high quality (1-way) links to your site. Each way you choose, you will not get into #1 over night, you'll need to wait for few months before you see some results of your Google Optimisation. There are many more ways to get backlinks like submitting articles with link to your site, building feeder web sites, trading links with other webmasters, buying link placements on other sites, to comment blogs (but not to spam), to use social bookmarking/news sites, to provide RSS feed others can use on their sites etc...
